The longest running tour of its kind, Windy City Players has brought our original adaptations of classic childrens' stories to school audiences all over the country. Through active audience participation, students learn invaluable moral lessons while laughing and staying engaged.
Each fall, five casts of three professionally trained actors take to the road and perform for three schools a day, Monday through Friday from September to November.
Our 2015 tour is underway! We're thrilled to offer schools across the country this freshly updated rendition of another timeless favorite
Highlighting the values of honesty, bravery and selflessness.
Our cast of three professionally trained actors will arrive about 30 minutes before the scheduled showtime, check in with the office and take it from there. They'll be set up and ready to start the show before you know it!
Tailored to fit the many and varied playing spaces our actors encounter everyday, our shows can be staged in any area you have available. From cafeterias, auditoriums, classrooms, gyms, etc., our show is designed to fit anywhere. (All we may ask from you is a couple chairs, a card table, etc.) We pride ourselves on creating highly interactive theatrical experiences that engage students and faculty alike. A question and answer session follows every performance, and our study guide will make sure that your students will have an enriching and immersive experience well after the actors have taken their final bows.

Touring with Windy City Players is a unique opportunity to grow as an artist and sharpen your skill set. Comprised of three actors, each cast is on the road from early September to mid November performing a 45-minute show to elementary schools three times a day, Monday to Friday. Each actor must be at least 21 years old and have a valid drivers license with a clean record. After each performance, actors must lead a brief question and answer session with the students, as well as set up and strike the minimal props and easily assembled set pieces. Ideal for recent college graduates who are ready to get to work.
Our 2015 tour, The Emperor's New Clothes , has been cast. Auditions are held in Chicago every June. Please check back in the spring for information on booking a slot. We ask to see a one-minute monologue as well as a headshot and resume.
